‘udChalo should cater to everyone’

PUNE: Lt General SK Saini, GOC-in-C Southern Command, during the 7th Foundation Day celebration of udChalo, a start-up catering to travel needs of armed forces personnel, veterans and their dependents, said that the firm should offer their services to civilians also.  

Lt Gen Saini said, “Going forward, the benefits of offerings from udChalo, an organisation started by two army kids, should also be extended to even those who don’t come from a defence background.”

Major General Pritam Bishnoi, Chief Signal Officer and Chairman of Army Institute of Technology (AIT) and Brigadier Bhatt, Director, AIT were present during the occasion. 

udChalo founders Varun Jain and Ravi Kumar are engineering graduates from AIT.

The company was founded in 2012 and operates in the areas of travel for defence personnel through their website, mobile application and 60 plus offline ticket booking offices catering to more than 2.8 million serving defence personnel, veterans and their dependents.

udChalo’s booking offices are operated by veterans/ Veer Naris/ dependents from the Indian Armed Forces community.
