‘Willing to stand for Assembly election’

ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: Newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) city president Madhuri Misal expressed her wish to contest State Assembly election once again. She has denied all the speculations of not contesting the State Assembly polls. She is a sitting Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Parvati constituency.

She is the first woman president of BJP’s city unit. While speaking to the media, she said, “My appointment as city president and contesting the elections have no connection. Both are different things and I am ready to contest the State assembly elections.”

She also appealed to party workers to talk to her instead of speaking in public as it will help to reduce the difference between the party workers. She further said, “Yogesh Gogawale has introduced a new pattern in the party for better work and coordination. Changes always take place in the party as it is a required process. Don’t give importance to the new appointment and replacement in the party. The party has given me the responsibility and I will work hard to do better work for the party.”

Meanwhile, very few corporators were present when Misal took charge from Gogawale. There was a prominent presence of Misal’s followers in the party office.
