Abhimanyu wins silver in World Jr Chess

Pune: The youngest Grandmaster of the city Abhimanyu Puranik has added one more feather to his glittering cap by winning the silver medal in the recently concluded World Junior Chess Championship in Turkey.

The gold medal was conquered by Grandmaster Maghsoodloo Parham of Iran. 

Abhimanyu was given 23rd ranking as per his rating.

Abhimanyu who played with a rating performance of 2683 - out of 11 rounds, won 7 games, drew 3 and lost 1. He would be adding 22.6 ELO rating points from this performance. 

Abhimanyu’s score in last 6 rounds  which are  5 points is extremely impressive.
