Ahilyadevi School wins 3-0 in tie-breaker over SPM

PUNE: Harshada Jadhav, Bhakti Sanas and Bindu Jalnila found the target from the spot as Ahilyadevi Primary School PMC School No 9 defeated SPM English Medium School 3-0 in tie-breaker after both the teams were locked goalless at the end of the regulation time in the Under-14 Girls second round match in  the Zilla Parishad football tournament in progress at St Patrick’s High School on Sunday.

The keenly-contested match needed a tie-breaker to find the winner and Ahilyadevi girls came up trumps when SPM faltered as Mahi   Jategaokar, Shirin Mudgal, Aarushi Naik and Gargi Shete missed their chances at crucial time.

In the first match of the day Nagarvala (Day Boarding) Secondary School defeated Lokseva-E-School 2-0.

Mrunal Ghare opened the scoring in the 10th minute to give Nagarvala an impetus before Jannat Shaikh made it 2-0 with her 24th minute strike into the nettings.

Under-14 (First Round):
Girls (second round): Nagarvala (Day Boarding) Secondary School 2 (Mrunal Ghare 10th, Jannat Shaikh 24th) beat Lokseva-E-School 0. Ahilyadevi Primary School PMC School No 9. 0 beat SPM English Medium School 0. Tie-break: 3 (Harshada Jadhav, Bhakti Sanas, Bindu Jalnila)-0.
