Arijeet, Aditya clinch titles at MMB Championship

PUNE: Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA) trainees made their presence felt as two players emerged winners while five others finished as runners-up at the Maharashtriya Mandal Badminton Championship, which concluded on Sunday.

NKBA’s Arijeet Gund and Aditya Tripathi emerged winners in the Under-15 and Under-13 Boys Singles categories respectively.

Arijeet Gund defeated NKBA mate Ninad Kulkarni 15-11, 15-10, while the second title for NKBA came in when Aditya Tripathi beat Samarth Sathe 15-7, 15-11.

Later, in the Under-15 Girls Singles battle, Raksha Panchang from NKBA lost to Simran Dhingra 6-15, 11-15.

In the Girls Under-13 final, Riddhima Sahrawat lost to Mrunal Sonar 12-15, 13-15. The Boys Singles saw Arijeet Gund going down to Arnav Lunavat 11-15, 12-15.

Boys: Under-15: Arijeet Gund (NKBA) bt Ninad Kulkarni (NKBA) 15-11, 15-10.
Under-13: Aditya Tripathi (NKBA) bt Samarth Sathe (NKBA) 15-7, 15-11.
Under-17: Arijeet Gund (NKBA) lost to Arnav Lunavat 11-15, 12-15.
Girls: Under-15: Raksha Panchang (NKBA) lost to Simran D 6-15, 11-15.
Under-13: Riddhima Sahrawat (NKBA) lost to Mrunal Sonar 12-15, 13-15.
