Arjun, Denis bow out in President’s Cup final

Pune: Local lad Arjun Khade and Denis Yevseyev could not cross the final hurdle as they lost the final 5-7, 6-7 (6-8) against Mikhali Elgin and Yaraslav Shyla in the President’s Cup $125,000 ATP Challenger tennis tournament at Astana in Kazakhstan on Saturday.  

Arjun and his partner Denis who is from Kazakhstan fought hard but went down with second set going in tie breaker.

Results:

Final: Mikhali Elgin (Rus) and Yaraslav Shyla (Blr) bt  Arjun Khade (Ind) and Denis Yevseyev (Kaz) 7-5, 7-6 (8-6).  

Semifinal: Arjun Khade (Ind) and Denis Yevseyev (Kaz) walk over against Timur Khabibulin (Kaz) and Volodoymyr Uzhylovskyi (Ukr).  

Quarterfinal: Arjun Khade (Ind) and Denis Yevseyev (Kaz) bt Alejandro Gonzalez (Col) and Benjamin Lock (Zim) 4-6, 7-5, 10-2.
