Arpit’s strikes thrice as Army Public School enters quarters

Pune: Three goals from Arpit Sharma helped Army Public School (APS) to outplay St Patrick’s School 4-0 in the Under-14 Zilla Parishad football tournament at PDFA Football Ground in Dobarwadi on Saturday.

Arpit struck the first goal in the fifth minute to give APS an early lead. Two minutes later, Aarav Gill made it 2-0.

In the 17th minute, Arpit was once again in action to net his second goal of the match. With the scoreline 3-0 in favour of APS, Arpit, who was on song, netted his third goal in the 22nd minute as APS won.     

St Vincent’s School crushed Matoshri English Medium School 7-0. For St Vincent’s Harsh Jagdale, scored three consecutive goals in the 5th, 6th and 10th minutes. Dominance from St Vincent’s boys continued as four more goals were added with Farish Shaikh (20th), Kevin Chatterjee (23rd), Shaun Perera (26th) and Bhargav Saveth (28th) scoring one each as Vincent’s sealed the quarter-final spot.
