PUNE: Bushtops trained by MK Jadhav slammed opposition enroute to winning the 2,000 metres Eve Champion Trophy (Grade 3) (Terms, Indian Horses, 4 years old and over), which highlighted the card of seven races held at the Pune Race Course here on Saturday.
Owned by Mr and Mrs Vijay B Shirke, Mr Jay V Shirke and Mr KN Dhunjibhoy rep Five Stars Shipping Co Pvt Ltd’s Bushtops maintained his form and fitness and bolted in well clear and is on course for bringing some more winners in the coming days of this season.
The performance of Bushtops indicates that he is a late bloomer.
Bushtops had recorded an impressive win earlier in the season but since that win had come in an ordinary company, he was not backed with the conviction being quoted at long odds.
Adjudicate was the firm favourite to record her first win on the Pune track where she is yet to register a win.
