Pune: ATP stars Marin Cilic and Ramkumar Ramanathan lent their support to the Adar Poonawalla Clean City Initiative (APCCI) which is the presenting sponsor of the Tata Open Maharashtra 2018 which is underway at the Balewadi Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Ramkumar said, “I think it’s great that APCCI is standing up for the cause of the environment in such a big way, and while the initiative has already gained ground in Pune, it spreads an important message for the rest of the world too. I am glad and honored to be playing in a tournament which is also spreading awareness about the clean and green cities in India.”
2017 Wimbledon finalist Marin Cilic, who is also participating in the Tata Open Maharashtra 2018, was seen interacting with fans at a special meet and greet session organised for them by APCCI. Marin Cilic said, “It was a pleasure interacting with such enthusiastic fans, each of whom came across as such passionate and knowledgeable individuals about tennis. I am happy that an organization like APCCI is giving opportunities to bring players close to their fans, whilst also championing the message of clean cities.”
