Pune: DAV Public School, Aundh defeated SPM English Medium School 2-0 in the third round of the Under-14 category of the Zilla Parishad football tournament in progress at Dobarwadi here on Sunday.
Pranav Asmar scored the first goal in the 8th minute while Pulkit Dingra scored the second goal in the 21st minute of the game.
In another encounter, Sardar Dastur defeated opponents Symbiosis Secondary School 3-2 in the tie-breaker after no goals were scored till regulation time.
In the tie-breaker Mihir Jagtap, Hussain Dohadwala and Kathit Kaatkari scored for Dastur while Rachit Kulwani and Arnav Pandhare scored for Symbiosis
Later, JN Petit Technical High School boys were in top form as they defeated Balshikshan Mandir English Medium School 9-0.
Neel Gawande was in good form as he scored three goals in the third, seventh and 12th minutes respectively.
Meanwhile Rohan Uttekar (10th, 13th), Yazdhan Wadia (17th,21st) added two goals each to the tally.
Nighesh Bhosale (25th) and Farzhan Shetna (30th) scored one goal each.
Also registering a victory was Matoshree English Medium School who defeated St Mary’s School with the scoreline of 2-0.
Rohan Shaikh (17th) and Omkar Chavan (28th) struck in time as the Matoshri boys walked with the win.
