Dhaivat Apte clinches gold medal

Pune: Dhaivat Apte from New English School, Ramanbaug clinched the gold medal (Under-16) in the chess event of Sakal presents Mapro Schoolympics in progress at Pandit Farms on Thursday.
Dhaivat garnered 8.5 points to finish on the top position.

Clinching the silver medal was Digambar Jail from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Sulocha Natu Vidya Mandir who garnered 8 points.

Meanwhile Aum Chordiya from Mansukhbhai Kothari National School, Kondhwa BK stood on the third position thus walking home with the bronze medal.

Dhaivat Apte (8.5) drew with Aum Chordiya (7.5); Archit Velankar (6.5) lost to Digambar Jail (8); Rajvardhan (7.5) beat Arjun Sachdev (6.5); Pranav Ambekar (6) lost to Om Lamkane (7); Archit Khare (7) beat Arya Narvekar (6); Kulkarni Chinmay (6) lost to Kush Gadia  (7);
Soham Sinha  (7) beat Shardul  Deo  (6).
