Dominant Pritha clinches U-12 title

Pune: City girl Pritha Vartikar continued her good run of the season as she bagged the Under-12 title defeating Sachi Dalvi in the 48th Inter District & 79th Maharashtra State Table Tennis Championship at Balewadi Sports Complex on Monday.

Top seed Pritha was tested by sixth seeded Thane girl Sachi before winning the contest 11-9, 5-11, 10-12,  11-2, 12-10 in around 45 minutes.

Earlier in the semi-final, Pritha ousted fourth seeded Taneesha Kotecha 7-11, 11-6,12-10, 11-4 while Sachi sent home second seeded Arya Songadkar 10-12, 12-10, 6-11, 11-5, 11-7.

Among the boy’s category, top seed Havish Asrani got the better of Amish Athawale 11-3, 11-9, 11-8.
