Pune: Dr Shamrao Kalmadi Junior College triumphed in the Zilla Parishad Under-19 boys Table Tennis tournament beating Bishops Junior College 3-1 on Wednesday.
Mihir Danke, Yogesh Nadgauda and Viren Narvekar won their respective matches to give Kalmadi Junior College a 3-0 lead in the final being played at Symbiosis School, Prabhat road.
Earlier in the day, Millennium High School and SPM English School girls teams entered the finals of the Under 14 category. On virtue of dominant displays, Millennium School blanked DAV School, Aundh 3-0, while SPM English School beat City International School by the same margin.
Sayali Patil beat Apra Shaligram 13-11, 11-3 to give Millennium High School the lead. It was duly doubled by Titiksha Pawar, who had to fight hard against Archita Anjan. Having gone a game down, Titiksha had to dig deep to win 5-11, 11-7, 11-7. Sayuri Patil then brushed aside Ankita Mundhe 11-2, 11-5 to complete the rout.
In the other semi-final, Aneeha D’Souza, Megha Kajale and Nupur Joshi won their respective matches to give SPM English School 3-0 win over City International School, Kothrud.
