Durva, Anshula score as Kalmadi Shamrao High School wins

Pune: Durva Devkar and Anshula Gavode scored in a space of eight minutes after the opening goal came in the 17th minute as Dr Shamarao Kalmadi High School defeated St Patrick’s High School 2-0 to score first round win in the girls Under-14 category of the Zilla Parishad football tournament in progress at St Patrick’s High School on Saturday.

Also winning were girls from Sinhgad Springdale Public School, who defeated Rashmi English Medium School 1-0. Shreya Kotwal scored the lone goal for the winners in the 20th minute.

In another match, SES Gurukul High School beat The Bishop’s School, Kalyaninagar 2-1 to enter the next round. For Gurukul, Mrunal Sagewkar scored in  the 6th minute and Maitrayi Kulkarni scored the second goal in the 13th minute. Meanwhile Viranjali Pandit scored one for Bishop’s ion the 19th minute.
