Eagles, Ravens win on Day 1 in Truspace badminton

Pune: Eagles and Ravens got off to a flying start in their opening league matches in the sixth edition of ‘PYC — Truspace’ badminton league tournament at PYC Gymkhana on Friday.

In the opening match, Eagles outplayed Hawks 5-2, while Ravens edged past Falcons 4-3. 

Amit Deodhar and Sarang Athavale started on a bright note for Eagles defeating Ashwin Shah and Suresh Waghela 21-11, 21-14. Eagles took a 2-0 lead with Tushar Nagarkar and Girish Mujumdar winning against Amar Shroff and Sandeep Tapaswi. The match was tied one game all when Amar and Sandeep were retired due to injury. The scoreline was 21-17, 20-21, 3-3 retd.
