Indrayani clinches title

PUNE: Indrayani defeated Parshuramians ‘A’ 3-0 to clinch the title of the Kesari Karandak football tournament which concluded at the Kataria School ground on Tuesday.

Both the teams took to the ground with a win in mind as it was the the title at stake. 

Jagat Raj from Indrayani scored the first goal in the 27th minute to give his team the all important lead. 

The score at half time read 1-0 in favour of the Indrayani boys. On switching sides Indryani made it 2-0 when Karmendra Saroj scored in the 62nd minute.

Meanwhile Jagat Raj struck again to score his second goal thus sealing the deal for Indrayani in the 68th minute. The winning team walked home richer by Rs 21,000 while the runners-up were awarded Rs 11,000.

Jagat Raj from Indrayani was given the best forward award. Markand Haradvela was given the best half award while the best defence award was given to Mayur Lakedla, a player from Parshuramians.

Meanwhile the best goalkeeper award was given to Priyatosh Chaturvedi and the player of the tournament award was given to Sohail Shaikh. The award for the most disciplined team was given to Saswad FC.
