Ishaque wins Asian Ranking men’s title

MUMBAI: Ishaque Eqbal of Kolkata outplayed Chennai’s Prithvi Sekhar to win the first $3000 RBL-ATT Asian Ranking Men’s tennis championship organized by Practennis and played at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association courts here on Sunday.

In a one-sided final, Eqbal, who had secured three upsets on the way to the final, knocked out sixth seeded Sekhar 6-1 ,6-2 in just over an hour.

Eqbal got 50 points and `31,000, while the runners-up got 30 points and `20,000.

Men’s final: Ishaque Eqbal bt 6-Prithvi Sekhar 6-1, 6-2.
