Late Anantrao Pawar School, Matoshri in final

PUNE: Late Anantrao Pawar Memorial English Medium School and Matoshri English Medium School will lock horns for the girls Under-16 title in the Srujan Super Cup 2019 Six-A-Side Slum Football at the Chonde Patil Sports Zone, Aundh.

In a double-header semi-final face-off, which meant both teams played each other twice, Late Anantrao Pawar Memorial English Medium School won both their encounters against Pujya Kasturba Gandhi English Medium School, while Matoshri English Medium School struggled to get past Ideal English Medium School after losing the first and winning the next.

In the first semi-final, Late Anantrao School downed Pujya Kasturba Gandhi School 3-0 in the first leg. Riya Bhandare (3rd), Ummefarda Khudawat (6th) and Zoya Shaikh 12th) scored for the winners. In the second-leg, Late Anantrao School had Riya Bhandare (8th) score the match-winner to down Pujya Kasturba Gandhi School 1-0 and complete their second win.

Later in the second semi-final, Matoshri English Medium School lost their opener to Ideal English Medium School 1-2. Samruddhi Lawate (6th) gave Matoshri the lead, but Ideal English School had Humera Shaikh (9th), Muskan Shaikh (13th) score to win the first leg.

In the second leg, Matoshri, aided by Kajal Chavan (3rd), Anandi Lokhande (10th) won 2-0 against Ideal School to set up a final clash with Late Anantrao Memorial English Medium School.
