Pune: Lucas (Phoenix Tower (USA)-Trinity Joy (GB) bred at Manjari Stud farm, owned by Mr & Mrs Shapoor P Mistry rep. Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt Ltd & Ms Nazak Chenoy, made a successful debut getting the better of second favourite Exodus.
The universal thought was that Exodus, with the benefit of a run, would be hard to down. However, Lucas was out quick and settled well in the third spot just behind Ship Rock and Multiglory.
Ship Rock got down to business on turning for home and easily zipped past the front runners. Exodus set about in chance and all hopes of a keen battle ended as one could gauge that the momentum was with Lucas. Winner was trained by Ms Nazak Chenoy’s and jockey Santosh G, who brilliantly rode Lucas to victory.
