Madhurima Sawant upsets top seed

PUNE: Unseeded player Madhurima Sawant created the biggest upset of the day as she knocked out top seeded Chandani Srinivasan of Telangana 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 to enter the quarterfinals of the girls singles event at the MSLTA Yonex Sunrise Hotel Ravine Under-14 National Ranking Tennis Tournament being played at Ravine Hotel, Panchgani on Thursday.

In another encounter of the day, Diya Choudhari upset fourth seeded opponent Riya Sachdeva of Delhi with the score of  6-4, 7-5.
