Maharana Sangh emerge champions

Pune: Maharana Sangh, Indapur defeated Abhijit Dada Krida Pratishthan 24-20 to win the Inter-Club Kabaddi tournament organised by Puneri Paltan as part of its endeavour to promote Kabaddi at grassroot levels at The Mills on Sunday.

The championship was organised in association with Pune Kabaddi Federation saw over16 teams participating.

The winners received a prize of Rs.11,000 and a trophy, while the runner’s up settled for Rs. 7,000. The third and fourth place finishers received Rs. 3,500 each.
Aniket Wagh emerged as the best raider and Deepak Sharma of Abhijit Dada Krida Pratishthan team emerged as best defender of the tourney.

“By means of this tournament, we wanted to connect with our fans in Maharashtra and provide a platform for the talented Kabaddi players. We were thrilled to see the passion and skills displayed by these young players,” said Kailash Kandpal, CEO, Insurekot Sports, the promotors of Puneri Paltan.

The team’s home leg of the Pro Kabaddi League will commence in Pune from September 14 at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Mahalunge-Balewadi.
