PUNE: Mehul Gopal and Vaibhav Sonawane scored goals in a space of seven minutes as Mathews Club rallied from a goal down to beat City Club 2-1 in a Third Division match in the PDFA League at the Dobarwadi ground on Monday.

Simar Adams’ eighth minute goal had put City Club ahead early on but Mathews FA crawled its way up when Mehul struck in the 22nd minute through a brilliant goal from the top of the box. Seven minutes later Vaibhav struck to give Mathews FA the winning lead.

In other matches, Rahul Singh scored in Yodhya FC’s 1-0 win over Real Pune United ‘B’, while other matches ended in goalless draw.
