Mixed luck for host in VOBA Cup football tourney

PUNE: Hosts Vincent’s Old Boys Association (VOBA) and Commandos FC had mixed luck in the Allan Castellino Memorial VOBA Cup Invitational football tournament, at the St Vincent’s High School ground.

First up, VOBA ‘B’ did well to silence Commando FC ‘B’ with Maazin N (22nd) and Ryan D’Souza (50+1) scoring in the second and third division match. Later, Commandos FC ‘A’ capatalised on the brace by David V (21st and 41st) to take revenge of their ‘B’ team and down VOBA ‘A’ and move into Round -2 of the tournament.

At the PDFA Dobarwadi ground, Noisy Boys FC moved up with the best win of the day downing FC Joseph 4-0.
