Pune: Modern High School and PCMC School will lock horns in the finals of the inaugural Father Schoch Memorial (Under-14) Inter-School Hockey tournament at the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri on Saturday.
In the semi-finals on Friday, Modern HS edged out St. Ursula High 3-2 via the penalty shoot after playing out a 1-1 draw in regular time.
Modern HS were the first to score when Aniket Amre (13th) sounded the boards. St Ursula struck back on the brink of half time via Jaskaran Singh (20th). The score at half time read 1-1.
The second half was a scoreless affair forcing the shootout. In the shootout, Modern Hs had Aniket Amre, Sahil Bhosale, Vasant Pendupad gain success, while St. Ursula HS could only muster goals from Jaskaran Singh, Kaif Sayyed.
Later, PCMC School led by a second half brace by Ritesh Tarkase (30th & 39th) overcame Jyoti English Medium 5-0. In the first half Ganesh Athawle (6th), Akash More (10th) and Swapnil Khandare (19th) netted to lead 3-0.
