Navya and Anjali score upset wins

PUNE: Navya Bhamadipti and Anjali Nimbalkar knocked out seeded played and moved into the pre-quarterfinals in the girls Under-14 event at the ICON Group “Little Champions Series” tennis tournament organised by the Pune Metropolitan District Tennis Association at the Balewadi Tennis Complex here on Sunday.

Unseeded Navya defeated seventh seeded Yashika Baxi 6-2, while Anjali Nimbalkar upset eighth seeded Rajlakshmi Desai 6-1 to make it to the last 16 stage.

Boys Under-12 (Third round): 1-Abhiram Nilakhe bt Aditya Kamat 6-1; 2-Advik Natekar bt Viraj Barve 6-0; 5-Arnav Bansode bt Arnav Singh 6-3; Dhruv Dogra bt Varad Undre 6-5 (3).

Girls Under-14 (Second round): 15-Kashvi Raj bt Aditi Harip 6-2; Navya Bhamadipti bt 7-Yashika Baxi 6-2; 3-Kavya Krishnan bt Delisha Ramgatta 6-4; 13-Nishita Desai bt S Prachi 6-2; 11-Ritika More bt Shriyaa Ruge 6-0; 5-Aleena Sheikh bt Kanika Babar 6-2; 9-Annika Shah bt Durga Birajdar 6-3; 4-Smarudhi Bhosale bt Geetanjali Umap 6-1; Anjali Nimbalkar bt 8-Rajlakshmi Desai 6-1; 2-Siddhi Khot bt Shravni Patki 6-1.
