Nirmale wins title on better back-nine score

Pune: Pratik Nirmale scored 36 Stableford points as does Pranav Mardikar, but his better back-nine scores helped him to clinch the Pune Festival Golf trophy at the Poona Club Golf Course here on Saturday.

Playing in the Gold Division category meant for those in the Handicap category 0-9, Pratik Nirmale and Pranav Mardikar scored identical cards. Nirmale, with handicap 5 and Mardikar with handicap 1 were separated on count-back where Nirmale had better scores.

The Silver Division was won by Col SD Ruben and Bronze Division trophy went to Vivek Pungalia.

Results:
Gold Division (Handicap 0-9): 1. Pratik Nirmale 36, 2. Pranav Mardikar 36.
Silver Division (Handicap 10-18): 1. Col SD Ruben 41, 2. Kartik Krishnaraj 38.
Bronze Division (Handicap 19-28): 1. Vivek Pungalia 42, 2. Prakash Bafna 41.
Nearest to the Pin: Hole No 4: Col SD Ruben 3 ft 8 inch; Hole No 13: Vinod Kumar 12 ft 5 inch
Straightest drive: Hole No 3: Unmesh Bhatija 3 inch; Hole No 18: Rajeshwari Agarwal 3 inch.
