Omkar, Kalyani impress as they clinch Under-17 titles

Pune: Omkar Ratnoji and M Kalyani won Under-17 titles in boys and girls sections respectively with contrasting performances, in the inaugural Pune International Laser Run, which was on the Pune City Tour, at the Baburao Sanas Ground here on Saturday.

Omkar completed the 400m course and shooting for 50 seconds four times in 8 minutes 37.00 seconds to win the gold medal. Parth Kharate won the silver in 8:39.00 and Dishank Saini took the bronze medal in 9:13.00.

In the girl’s Under-17 event, M Kalyani completed the course four times in 10 minutes 30.00 seconds to win the gold medal. Vemula Supriya (11:23.00) won silver and Richa Sharma (13:29.00) took the bronze medal.

The event was organized by the Modern Pentathlon Federation of India as a selection trial to pick India team for the World Laser Run championship to be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from October 5 to 7.

Under-17 (whole course 4 times): 1. Omkar Ratnoji 8:37.00, 2. Parth Kharate 8:39.00, 3. Dishank Saini 9:13.00.
Under-15 (whole course 4 times): 1. Prasad Bhargav 8:51.00, 2. N Pawar Kumar 9:07.00, 3. Akash Jadhav 9:11.00.
Under-13 (whole course 3 times): 1. Yash Bhujbal 6:51.00, 2. Atharva Bogum 7:08.00, 3. Shlok Paygude 7:21.00.
Under-11 (whole course 2 times): 1. Aarya Chavan 4:41.22, 2. 2. Vedant Gokhale 4:41.23, 3. Parth Mayadeo 4:48.22.
Girls:
Under-17 (whole course 4 times): 1. M Kalyani 10:30.00, 2. Vemula Supriya 11:23.00, 3. Richa Sharma 13:29.00.
Under-15 (whole course 4 times): 1. Maitrali Bhandari 11.08.00, 2. Syna Dhoka 11:51.00, 3. T Bindu Prasanna 12:06.00.
Under-13 (whole course 3 times): 1. C Divya 6:53.00, 2. Shruti Gaikwad 7:13.00, 3. Ananayaa Namde 7:14.00.
Under-11 (whole course 2 times): 1. Nandini Menkar 5:13.00, 2. Shreya Malusare 5:22.00, 3. Vidhika Parmar 5:31.00.
