PCLTA Clay Kings are Plate Division Champions

PUNE: PCLTA Clay Kings emerged champions of the Plate Division at the eighth edition of the Shashi Vaidya Memorial Inter Club Tennis Championship which was jointly organised by PMDTA and PYC Gymkhana on their tennis courts.

In the plate division finals, PCLTA Clay Kings outplayed SP College ‘1’ with the score of 22-12. In the 100+ event, Vijay Khanna combining with Nandu Rokade registered a 6-1 win over Ashish Dikey and Mandar Mehendale.

The 90+ pair of Ravi Joukani and Nirmal Vadhwani beat Umesh Bhide and Gajanan Kulkarni 6-3 to extend the lead of the team.

The open pair of Dr. Rajesh Mittal and Anant Gupta sealed the deal thrashing Kedar Patil and Aditya Joshi 6-2. In the second open event, Pravin Ghode and Dharmesh Wadhwani lost to Santosh Shah and Swetal Shah 4-6.

RESULTS: Plate Division: 
Semifinals: PCLTA Clay Kings bt Law College Lions 22-13; SP College ‘1’ bt Maharashtra Mandal 21-14.
Final Round: PCLTA Clay Kings bt SP College ‘1’ 22-12.
