Pune defeats Mumbai to claim Under-12 gold medal

Pune: Pune Under-12 boys team clinched the Under-12 gold medal in the quads category defeating Mumbai 3-1 in the 28th edition of the Maharashtra Roller and Inline Skating Hockey Championship held at Nashik. 

Apurva Bangle came out with an impressive show in the finals. Meanwhile the girls Under-12 team claimed bronze medal.

The team played against Mumbai, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Thane  in super league format. The Under-16 girls also returned home with bronze medal after playing super league matches against Mumbai, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Thane and Jalgaon. The Under-16 boys also came back with a bronze medal. Before bagging the bronze, the boys faced teams from Mumbai, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Thane and Jalgaon.

After series of bronze medals, Pune won the second gold medal as Under-12 girls team defeated Ahmednagar 2-0. Nandini Bandiwar and Anuja Patil scored one goal each for the winning team. One more gold medal came into Pune’s kitty as Under-16 boys crushed Ahmednagar 3-1.
