Pune: Saad Sayyed and Ajinkya Yelve entered the  knockout stage at the BSAM 6 Red Snooker State Selection Tournament being played at Poona Club billiards room here on Sunday.

Ajinkya Yelve of Mumbai recorded the highest break of the event so far potting 62 points and scored a 27-40, 38-05, 41-37, 01-40, 43-41, 62 (62)-01 win over Siddhesh Mulay of Chiplun to make it to the knockout round.

Saad Sayyed who had won two league matches registered a 4-1 victory over Ajinkya Yelve winning with the score reading 38-10, 43-33, 41-30, 08-35, 36-30.

Meanwhile Pune’s Salil Deshpande defeated city mate Kunal Vaswani 34-3, 35-22, 40-5, 20-30, 42-14.
