Raees romps home to victory

Muneer

Pune: Raees (by Sedgefield-Lost Perfection (USA), trained by Imtiaz A Sait and the property of Mr and Mrs Hoosain S Nensey and Mr Saif H Nensey and bred at Jai Govind Stud Farm, stamped it’s authority among the top rated horses and sailed away to victory in the Suresh Mahindra Trophy, the longest race in the country at the Pune Race Course on Saturday.

The 3200 metre race started off on a shaky note with none of the four runners eager to hit the front. The first couple of furlongs was reduced by a trot as Al Shamsher and Squre Moon had their jockeys applying  brakes  the moment the gates flung open.

They trotted past the stands and when they swung away towards the 2000 did they settle down. CS Jodha probably scored the easiest victory in the above race.
