Pune: ROGTitans and MAGTitans.Pune.Five teams showed their class to emerge victorious in the Dota 2 and CS:GO finals in the Pune finale of Cobx Masters at MAG Café in Kondhwa
Cobx Masters is the eSports tournament which features teams from around the nation taking part in the online gaming competition.
With e-Sports making a debut as an exhibition sport at the forthcoming Asian Games at Jakarta, the tournament has generated ample interest from gaming lovers. However, e-Sports has been confirmed as a full medal event for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
ROGTitans defeated GGWellPlayed in Dota 2 while MAGTitans.Pune.Five got the better of Team NSK in CS:GO final.
The winners received a cheque of Rs 30,00 along with a trophy while the runner’s up received Rs 20, 000 and a trophy. The winning teams will be participating in Phase II of the tournament.
“This day has been a memorable one for us as we have qualified for the second phase of India’s biggest gaming tournament. So far, we have participated in smaller, local tournaments that didn’t come with national and international exposure that Cobx Masters comes with,” said Darshan of Team ROGTitans.
“We are so thankful that we finally have an international level tournament being organised in India. From here, we plan to only look ahead. Our focus is now to win the tournament title,” added Darshan.
Roshan of Team MAG.Pune.Five said, “All this while, we played CS:GO for fun, but with the level of professionalism in Cobx Masters, we are driven to pursue it as a career, like thousands of gamers around the world. With this win, we feel we have already taken the first step.”
