PUNE: Rudra Rane defeated Abhilasha Anish 23-21, 21-19 in the qualifying round of the Women’s Singles Under-19 category of the Yonex Sunrise India Junior International Grand Prix 2019, in memory of Late Sushant Chipalkatti in progress at the Modern Sports Complex here on Thursday.
In other action Adya Parashar defeated Himanshi Rawat with the score reading 19-21, 21-10, 21-10 in a 39 minute match while Riya Kunjir defeated Pranavi Chagam Sree Ranga 21-17, 21-16 followed by Tasnim Mir who defeated Akshaya Arumugam 21-13, 21-15.
Later Likhita Srivastava displayed a good game as she defeated Khor Jing Wen from Malaysia with the score reading 21-18, 21-11 in a 35 minute match.
Meanwhile Meghana Reddy Mareddy got the better of Jayantika Rathore with the score reading 21-10, 21-10.
