Ruma enters Rd 1 with easy victory

Pune: Second seed Ruma Gaikaiwari started the tournament with an easy win defeating Chinmayi Bagwe 6-0, 6-0 to enter the round two in the 31st Pravin Trophy Under-12 National Ranking Tennis Tournament at the Hill Side Gymkhana tennis courts, Bibvewadi. 

The third seed, Swara Katka also did not face any trouble to advance in the tournament scoring win over Bhavani Khapare 6-3, 6-4. 

Fifth seed Anannya Bhatia started on wrong foot losing the first set 4-6 before winning next two sets 6-4, 7-5 to advance.

Jui Kale’s patience was tested against Avani Chitale as she won the first set 7-6 (7-3) in the tie-breaker and then took the second set 6-3.
