PUNE: Sasmit Patil finished on a high winning the Player Of The Tournament award at the 9th Annual Li Ning NKBA Summer Module Tournament which took place at Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA) situated in the Balewadi Sports Complex from May 13 to 15.
In the Junior Boys final, Sasmit Patil beat Nikhil Chetry 21-19, 21-17 to emerge victorious. Meanwhile Riya Habbu, Tejas Shinde, Sanika Patankar and others defeated respective opponents to clinch titles in respective categories.
In the Junior Girls final, Riya Habbu beat Siddhi Jadav 16-21, 21-12, 21-14 to walk home with the title. The Boys Singles, Under-15 final witnessed Tejas Shinde beating Pratham Wani 21-19,12-21, 21-19.
In the Girls Singles, Under-13 final, Riddhima Sahrawat beat Ananya N Agrawal 18-21, 21-13, 21-19 to emerge victorious.
In the Girls Singles, Under-15 final, Sanika Patankar stole the show getting past Ojal Rajak with the score reading 21-14, 21-11.
In the Boys Singles, Under-13 final, Yashraj Kadam beat Arjun Bhagat 21-19, 21-13 while the Girls Singles Under-11 final saw Aditi Agrawal walking with top honours beating Sanskruti Joshi 21-11,21-12.
The chief guest for the event was Narendra Sopal, Jt.Director Sports Govt. Of Maharashtra who was felicitated by Kanetkar Sports Foundation (KSF) Chairman Dr Rahul Kallianpur.
Also present on the occasion was Jayant Pawar, Founder & Owner of Solaris Club. He awarded the Player of the Tournament Trophy to Sasmit Patil.
