Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The swashbuckling batsman, in a tweet, declared that he has been feeling unwell from Thursday.

Afridi is the third Pakistan cricketer to test positive for COVID-19 after Taufeeq Umar and Zafar Sarfaraz.

He also spoke the prayers for his recovery. He wrote, “I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah."

Since the crisis of coronavirus started, Shahid Afridi has been doing a lot of noble work through his foundation, 'Hope Not Out'. In his charity work, he has helped thousands of needy by delivering ration and essential products in the lockdown.

Many cricketers such as Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh praised Afridi's effort but later the relations between the Asian neighbours turned sour after Boom Boom Afridi made controversial remarks on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Apart from Afridi, Majid Haq from Scotland and Solo Nqweni from South Africa are the other cricketers who have found positive for the infection.

Shahid Afridi has played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20 matches for Pakistan from 1998 to 2018.
