Shirfule, Kaple emerge victorious

Pune: Shivtej Shirfule and Hritika Kaple defeated respective opponents to win titles in the boys and girls Under-10 event at the third leg of the PMDTA-ICON Little Junior Champions Bronze Series Tennis Tournament in progress at the Center For Police Research, Pashan on Wednesday.

In the boys Under-10 final, third seeded Shivtej Shirfule outplayed ninth seeded Namish Hood of Pune 7-4 to walk home with the title.  

In the semifinal action Shivtej Shirfule defeated second seeded Swarnim Yevalekar 6-4 while Namish Hood defeated Aaryan Kirrtane with the score reading 6-3.

In the girls section, top seeded Hritika Kaple scored a 7-4 win over third seeded Rishita Patil. 

In the semifinals, Hritika Kaple beat fourth seeded Avipsha Dehury 6-3 while Rishita Patil beat Asmi Tilekar 6-3.

Final: 3-Shivtej Shirfule bt 9-Namish Hood 7-4.
Semifinals: 3-Shivtej Shirfule bt 2-Swarnim Yevalekar 6-4; 9-Namish Hood bt  Aaryan Kirrtane 6-3.
Girls: 
Final: 1-Hritika Kaple bt 3-Rishita Patil 7-4.
Semifinals: 1-Hritika Kaple bt 4-Avipsha Dehury 6-3; 3-Rishita Patil bt  Asmi Tilekar 6-3.
