Shivshakti Kridamandal emerge champions of Nashik

PUNE: Shivshakti Kridamandal, Adgaon won the Nashik leg of the Puneri Paltan’s Inter-Club Kabaddi tournament beating the fellow Adgaon team Brahma Sports 19-17 with Sanny Mate emerging as the best raider and Omkar Kokale of Brahma Sports as best defender.

As many as 16 teams participated in the tournament which was organised as part of Puneri Paltan’s endeavour to promote Kabaddi at grassroot levels. 

The winning team received prize fund of Rs 11,000 and a trophy and the runner’s Brahma Sports pocketed Rs. 7,000 and a trophy. Krida Prabodhani settled for the bronze position and Shikarevadi Krida Mandal ended in the fourth place.

“By means of this tournament, we wanted to connect with our fans in Maharashtra and provide a platform for the talented Kabaddi players. We were thrilled to see the passion and skills displayed by these young players who will form the next generation of Kabaddi players,” said Kailash Kandpal, CEO, Insurekot Sports, promoters of Puneri Paltan.
