SP College, MIT-Loni eves book last four berths

Pune: Indira College scored an exciting one-point win, while BMCC, Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) and Ness Wadia emerged winners to enter the semifinals of the Srujan Super Cup Basketball Tournament at Deccan Gymkhana courts.

On a day lined up with quarterfinal encounters, Indira College downed Maharashtra Mandal College of Engineering (MMCOE) 34-33 in the best match of the day.

Trailing by 17-18 at half time, Indira did well to force a reversal at the end of full time. For Indira, Ashish Jena (15 points) top scored and was assisted by Digvijay D (6), while MMCOE had Siddhant Chaudhary (13) and Mahesh Yadgire (9) do well.

In other last-8 encounters, BMCC downed Kaveri College 36-33, Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) put out bt AISSMS 39-32 and Ness Wadia had it easy against Suryadatta 47-40.      

In the girls’ section, SP College and Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), Loni entered the semi-finals.
