State players bow out in All India Sr badminton

Pune: Maharashtra players Harsheel Dani and Revati Devasthale lost their respective semifinals in the men’s and women’s category as the state challenge ends in the Yonex-Sunrise VV Natu Memorial All India Senior Badminton Tournament at Modern Sports Complex here on Saturday.    

Harsheel lost the contest 21-13, 21-9 against Rahul Yadav of Telengana while Revati was ousted by Riya Mookerjee 21-13, 21-4.

In the Men’s final,  Rahul will meet Alap Mishra of Madhya Pradesh who got the better of Kaushal Dharmamer 21-19, 21-10 while Riya will battle against Shriyanshi Pardeshi who outplayed top seeded Anura Prabhudesai 21-19, 21-14.

Men: 5- Rahul Yadav (Tel) bt Harsheel Dani (Mah) 21-13, 21-9; Alap Mishra (Mp) bt Kaushal Dharmamer 21-19, 21-10.
Doubles: 1-Arun George and Sanyam Shukla (Ker/AI) bt 4-A Buragohain and R Buragohain (Asm) 21-13, 21-13. 
Women: 4-Shriyanshi Pardeshi (Mp) bt 1-Anura Prabhudesai (Goa) 21-19, 21-14; 5-Riya Mookerjee (UP) bt Revati Devasthale ((Mah) 21-13, 21-4.
Doubles: Manasi  Gadgil and Saoji, Mrunmayi (Mah) and 1-Dhanya Nair and Ashna Roy (Rly/Ker) 21-19, 20-17 Retd; Pooja D and Ningshi Hazarika, (AI/Asm) bt Sanyogita Ghorpade and Maneesha K (AI/ RBI) 21-14, 18-21, 22-20.
