Sub-Junior National Championship hockey from January 17

PUNE: Maharashtra team will take part in the Hockey India Sub Junior National Championship, Saifai, Uttar Pradesh, which will be played from January 17-28.  

The team departed from Pune on Monday. Maharashtra team is placed in Pool A along with Karnataka, and Gangpur Odisha, and Delhi. 16 teams are taking part in the event, which are divided in four groups. Top two teams from each group will qualify for the next round. 

Maharashtra team will start their campaign on January 18 against Delhi.

Dhairyashil Jadhav from Krida Prabodhini is the captain of the team while Aditya Rasala from Ranghehills High School is named his deputy.

The team is coached by Senior Bombay Engineering Group Player Niranjan Ekka.
