Vibgyor, City International record wins

Pune: City International School, Vibgyor School, Modern College and New England School registered wins in their respective first round matches at the ZP badminton event on Wednesday.

Being played at the Zonal Sports Complex courts in Yerawada, the day’s first match saw Moden College beat Rosary School 2-0 with Aryan Shetty playing a key role in singles as well as doubles tie.

Aryan first outclassed Viren Mandlecha 11-5, 11-3 to give his side 1-0 advantage. He then teamed up with Parth Kantak to beat Krishna Shah and Ayush Malvadkar 11-7, 11-2 to give Moden College a 2-0 winning margin.

In another tie, New England School blanked JN Petit team 2-0. City International School too, had a good day as they beat Sadhana English Medium School 2-0.

Prakash Panigrahi first brushed aside Pranav Shelar 11-1, 11-2 in a 15 minute rout, then in tandem with Saksham Singh, he beat the pair of Shivam Mhatre and VIrendra Sasti 11-1, 11-3.
