While Apple has not disclosed specific details regarding the new features or improvements included in this update, it is expected to contain various bug fixes and enhancements to improve overall performance.

Updating your AirPods firmware is a straightforward process. Here’s how to ensure your AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods 4 are updated:

  1. Connect to a Compatible Device:
Make sure your AirPods are connected to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac that is connected to Wi-Fi.

  2. Place in Charging Case:
Put your AirPods in their charging case and connect the case to a power source.

  3. Wait for the Update:
The firmware update will install automatically while the AirPods are charging. It may take up to 30 minutes for the update to complete.

  4. Check Firmware Version:
To verify that your AirPods have been updated, follow these steps:

    • Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

    • Tap on General, then select About.

    • Scroll down and tap on your AirPods to view the firmware version.

As of now, Apple has not provided detailed release notes for firmware version 7E93. However, previous updates have typically included:

  • Bug fixes

  • Improvements in connectivity

  • Enhancements in audio quality

The last significant update prior to this was version 7B21, which was released back in November and also focused on stability improvements without introducing new features.

The release of firmware version 7E93 for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 marks another step in Apple's commitment to enhancing user experience through regular updates. While specific changes remain unclear, users can expect improved functionality and performance from their devices. To ensure you’re benefiting from the latest features, make sure your AirPods are updated regularly.
