The Aadhaar card has become a crucial document in India today. It is required for various purposes, such as school admissions for children or starting a new job. You cannot open a bank account without an Aadhaar card. Additionally, to benefit from any government scheme, possessing an Aadhaar card is essential. Any errors in the Aadhaar card can hinder many of our tasks.
Therefore, UIDAI offers an Aadhaar update facility to millions of users. To update your Aadhaar, you need to visit an Aadhaar center. If you are unaware of the location of an Aadhaar center in your city, here is how to find it easily.
The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) allows you to locate your nearest Aadhaar center online using just your PIN code. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Visit the official UIDAI website: uidai.gov.in
Go to the ‘Get Aadhaar’ section on the homepage
Click on ‘Locate an Enrollment Center’
You’ll see multiple search options: By State, By PIN Code and Search Box.
Select the ‘Postal (PIN) Code’ option
Enter your 6-digit PIN code in the box
Fill in the captcha code and click ‘Submit’
You will now see a list of nearby Aadhaar centers with full details
UIDAI also allows Aadhaar users to update some things themselves. For example, if you want to update the address in your Aadhaar, then you can update it directly by going to the Aadhaar portal.
But, if you want to update the name, date of birth, mobile number or biometrics details in the Aadhaar card, then you will have to go to the Aadhaar center. You can update the biometric details for free, but if you change the name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, or email, then you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 for this.
