Google Classroom Introduces Gemini-Powered AI Tool for Instant Quiz and Questionnaire Generation

New AI feature enables educators to create customized quizzes from text inputs, enhancing teaching efficiency and student engagement.

Google Classroom has launched an innovative AI-driven feature powered by Google’s Gemini technology that helps educators generate quiz questions and questionnaires quickly and effortlessly. Released on April 14, 2025, this tool allows teachers to upload documents from Google Drive or manually input text, from which the AI generates a tailored set of questions.

Educators can customize the output by selecting filters such as grade level, number of questions, and question types—including multiple-choice and open-ended formats. Additionally, teachers can specify the skills they want students to demonstrate, such as analyzing arguments or applying figurative language. Once generated, the questions can be exported directly to Google Docs or Google Forms for seamless integration into lesson plans.

This feature is available exclusively to Google Workspace for Education subscribers who have the Gemini add-on or Gemini Education Premium subscription. Since its initial integration into Google Classroom in 2024, Gemini’s capabilities have expanded to include vocabulary list generation, lesson plan suggestions, and summarization of class notes and student evaluations.
