The Indian government has launched a new Aadhaar app, designed to enhance security and privacy while simplifying identity verification processes. This app introduces Face ID authentication via mobile devices, eliminating the need for physical Aadhaar cards or photocopies.

  1. Face ID Authentication:
    Users can verify their identity using Face ID on their mobile devices, ensuring a secure and seamless experience.

  2. QR Code Verification:
    Similar to UPI payments, users can scan a QR code to digitally verify their Aadhaar details, making the process quick and convenient.

  3. Consent-Based Data Sharing:
    The app empowers users to share only the necessary information, ensuring complete control over personal data and reducing the risk of misuse.

  4. No Physical Copies Needed:
    Users no longer need to carry physical Aadhaar cards or submit photocopies, reducing the risk of data leaks and forgery.

The app is designed with privacy in mind, ensuring that Aadhaar data is shared securely and only with user consent. The digital verification process prevents forgery and tampering, enhancing the overall security of Aadhaar transactions.

After initial testing with a select group, the app is expected to be rolled out nationwide soon.The app aligns with the government's vision of integrating AI with Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to enhance ease of living and privacy.
