Renowned Indian tennis player Sania Mirza recently shared with her close friend and filmmaker Farah Khan the emotional challenges she encountered following her separation from former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. In their open discussion, Farah disclosed that she had observed Sania experiencing panic attacks during that challenging period.
Sania discusses her experience as a single parent
During a chat on her YouTube show Serving It Up with Sania, Sania discussed her personal life with her friend and filmmaker Farah Khan. The conversation began when Farah reflected on her past and the financial struggles her family endured following the box office failure of her father Kamran Khan's film.
Farah mentioned, "When I was around 5 or 6 years old, I was quite a spoiled and pampered child. However, over the years, I witnessed the consequences of that. I don't hold the industry responsible because this is a common occurrence in every field. If you fail, people will not approach you. It's not just Bollywood that's challenging; life itself is tough."
The conversation became emotional when Sania shared the challenges she has encountered as a single mother following her divorce from ex-Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.
Discussing Sania, Farah remarked, "You are now a single mother. There is nothing more challenging than being a single mother. It is extremely difficult. We all have our own paths, and we must decide what is best." In reply, Sania acknowledged that balancing motherhood, career, and education has frequently felt daunting.
Sania recounted a particular experience, saying, “I prefer not to discuss it on camera, but there was a time that was among my lowest when you appeared on my set, and I had to proceed with a live show afterward. Had you not been there… I was trembling. Without your presence, I wouldn’t have gone through with the show, but you insisted, ‘Regardless of anything, you are doing this show.’
In response, Farah mentioned, "I was really frightened. I've never witnessed you having a panic attack before. I was supposed to be filming that day, but I abandoned it and rushed over in my pajamas and slippers."
Regarding Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik
In January 2024, Sania Mirza, a former tennis player, and Shoaib Malik, a former cricketer from Pakistan, declared the conclusion of their 14-year marriage. Speculation about their split had been ongoing for several months, but the official confirmation was provided by Mirza's sister, Anam.
The announcement stated, 'Sania and Shoaib have been living apart for several months, and their divorce was finalized some time ago.' It also asked for privacy and respect for Mirza during this challenging period. Following his divorce from Sania Mirza, cricketer Shoaib Malik married Pakistani actress Sana Javed last year.
