On October 19, businesswoman Isha Ambani hosted the first British Museum Ball in London, wearing a custom outfit by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, which was created by 35 artisans over 3,670 hours, according to celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania on Monday.
Adajania posted pictures of Isha at the Pink Ball, mentioning, In an innovative way to honor the pink ball theme, the designers employed pink zardozi for the first time, a technique usually reserved for gold.
She explained the inspiration for the outfit, saying, "We explored the archives of Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix to discover this remarkable silhouette, which exudes both strength and poetry. The embroidery draws inspiration from the tapestries and frescoes of Indian palaces, narrating a tale of history and dedication."
Isha, aged 33, co-hosted the event alongside Nicholas Cullinan, the director of The British Museum. The lavish ball saw the presence of numerous prominent celebrities such as Mick Jagger, Janet Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Sir Norman Foster, Lady Kitty Spencer, Luke Evans, and James Norton.
Isha was breathtaking in a jacket and column skirt adorned with intricate embroidery. Her ensemble was complemented by embroidered stilettoes and emerald jewelry. She was joined by her mother, Nita Ambani, who looked striking in a handwoven pink Kanjivaram sari from Swadesh.
The Pink Ball was a fundraising initiative by the British Museum to support emerging artists and projects striving to make a difference in communities worldwide.
