Splitsvilla 16 wild card contestant Ruru Thakur recently discussed her breakup during a LIVE session. She confessed that she still regrets participating in the show and addressed the impact of Yogesh Rawat and Akanksha Choudhary’s on-screen relationship fallout. Speaking about her own split, Ruru remarked, "It ended for the better."
During a recent livestream, Ruru read out a fan’s question that said, "They haven’t actually broken up; it’s all just drama." In response, Ruru stated, "We have broken up, it’s over." She went on to add, "And this isn’t something to deny. It has actually ended. It’s over for good."
She then responded to another question: "When will fans next see her together with Yogesh?" With a witty smile, Ruru answered, "Abhi jab finale karte hain, jab sab ko bulayenge wapas, tab dekha jaega" (We’ll see when we do the finale and call everyone back). She also discussed breaking Akanksha and Yogesh’s connection on Splitsvilla 16, confessing, "I still regret it, main kyun hi gayi" (I still regret it; why did I even go).
The drama unfolded when Ruru joined Splitsvilla 16 as a wild card contestant. As per Ruru and Yogesh, they had ended their relationship a month before Yogesh entered the show. However, Ruru shared that she never received proper closure, which is why she wanted to try again. Watching his ex come back on the show after leaving everything else behind softened Yogesh’s heart, leading him to dump Akanksha and team up with Ruru for the finale.
After this, Akanksha’s popularity on social media soared, with fans rallying behind her and convinced that Yogesh had mistreated her. The conflict between Yogesh and Ruru intensified outside the show when Yogesh supported Sorab, while Ruru and Rushali criticized him for allegedly being unfaithful to his ex, Appurva Rampal, with Niharika.
New episodes of Splitsvilla 16 are broadcast three times a week—on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In addition to airing on MTV, the episodes can also be streamed on Jio Hotstar.
