Pune: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were on a joint visit to Pune on Thursday (February 6) for the inauguration and foundation stone laying of multiple development projects.
The visit commenced with the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate building, aimed at enhancing law enforcement infrastructure in the city.
Following the ceremony, both leaders attended an event in Chakan, where they participated in an industrial visit at the Nibe Group facility. During the visit, Chief Minister Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Pawar inspected AK-47 rifles as part of a demonstration at the facility.
At the event, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, known for his candid and often humorous remarks, made a lighthearted comment to the assembled media. Referring to the ruling Mahayuti alliance, he quipped, "Give proper news about Mahayuti, or the two of us will eliminate everyone."
His remark drew laughter from the audience. Pawar, aware of media coverage tendencies, further added, "Now, the journalists will print only this statement."
Ajit Pawar has often made headlines for his straightforward and sometimes controversial statements. However, on this occasion, his comment was delivered in a jovial spirit, reflecting his lighter side.
